Terms of Service
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms apply to your use of CardToCookbook at cardtocookbook.com (the “service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Questions: support@cardtocookbook.com.
1. What the service does
You upload photos of recipe cards; the service uses AI to transcribe them, lets you review and edit the text, and builds a PDF cookbook in your browser. You can generate a free, watermarked preview of the first 3 recipes. Buying a plan unlocks the full, unwatermarked PDF.
2. Your content
- You keep all rights to your photos, recipes and books. We claim no ownership.
- You give us only the permission needed to process your photos to provide the service (sending them to our AI provider for transcription, as described in our Privacy Policy).
- Only upload cards you own or have permission to use, and don’t upload anything unlawful. You are responsible for how you use and share the books you make.
3. AI transcription can be wrong
Handwriting – especially faded pencil – is hard to read, and the AI can misread words, quantities, temperatures or times without flagging them. We mark uncertain spots with [?], but not every mistake will be marked. Please check every recipe against the original card before printing or cooking from it. We are not responsible for results of recipes, including food-safety or allergy issues.
4. Prices and payment
- Family Cookbook: US$19, one-time, for one cookbook of up to 30 recipes.
- Heirloom Cookbook: US$39, one-time, for one cookbook of up to 100 recipes.
Prices include any applicable sales tax or VAT. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Creem, who is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, handles payment, tax and receipts, and whose terms also apply to your purchase.
A purchase unlocks the full PDF in the browser where you bought it; you can restore it on another device with your email and order number. Your recipes and photos stay in your browser, so keep a copy of your PDF – if you clear your browser data we cannot recover them.
5. Refunds
If you are not happy with your cookbook, email support@cardtocookbook.com within 14 days of purchase with your order number and we will refund you in full – no questions asked. Refunds are paid through Creem to your original payment method. This does not limit any rights you have under consumer law where you live. If an order is refunded or charged back, the unlocked book may be locked again.
6. Fair use
To keep the service fast and affordable we limit how many cards can be transcribed per minute and per day. Please don’t try to bypass these limits, payments or watermarks, scrape the service, or interfere with its operation. We may block abusive use.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features; if we ever shut down, paid customers will get notice and time to download their books.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Changes don’t affect purchases already made.
